Danielle Renzi
Danielle was born and raised just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and obtained her undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering at Bucknell University. She loves to travel and quickly developed a severe case of wanderlust after spending a summer in Germany, Switzerland and France in 2009. After that she knew spending a semester abroad was a must. She spent a year convincing her faculty and study abroad staff that this was true and eventually she got to spen da semester in Prague, Czech Republic.
Inspired by the work of Dr. Paul Farmer in Haiti, she decided she wanted use her mechanical engineering degree to help improve public health. The Master's International Program at USF offered the perfect balance of higher education, improving public health, and practical experience. In her spare time she enjoys studying languages and playing ultimate frisbee. She spent the majority of her free time at Bucknell developing the ultimate frisbee program and is more or less obsessed with the sport. Yes, sport. She plans to introduce the sport to her community and hopefully organize some tournaments for local women's teams. Right now she is enjoying the warm Tampa weather and is excited to find out where the Peace Corps will take her! |
