Mark Kalivoda
Mark Kalivoda was born and raised in Gainesville, Florida, attending the International Baccalaureate program at Eastside High School. After high school, Mark postponed college for a semester and travel around the United States. The majority of his time was spent living and working at a women’s and children’s shelter in St. Louis, Missouri; and a homeless shelter and soup kitchen in New York City. Mark eventually enrolled at the University of Florida, where he became heavily involved with the Engineers Without Borders organization. The work with EWB led he to pursue the Peace Corps after college. Mark graduated from UF in the spring of 2012 with B.S. degrees in Environmental Engineering and Civil Engineering; and subsequently joined the Master’s International Program at USF. Post-Peace Corps, Mark intends to continue working in International Development.
