Ben Yoakum

Picture
My name is Ben Yoakum and I grew up Orlando, Florida. After high school I moved to the local public state university, University of Central Florida (UCF). At UCF I studied Biology and Environmental Engineering and received a Bachelors degree in each subject. My research interests at UCF were in the area of water treatment and more specifically in nano and RO membrane research. I participated in independent study under the supervision of Dr. Steven Duranceau and helped setup bench-scale testing equipment for further investigations.

In late August 2010 I moved to Tampa to study and earn a Masters degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of South Florida. My hobbies are unicycling, juggling, camping, playing the guitar and playing cards. My expected departure date for the Peace Corps is July 2011.
