Falak is an international student from Pakistan. She is a master’s student at the University of South Florida. She’s enthusiastic to address major water crisis around the globe, particularly, Sub-Saharan regions. To better understand the water crisis across the under developed countries, she boarded on an education abroad journey during her graduate studies to gain first-hand experience of their problems and to come up with a sustainable solution for them. She’s working towards International Development under the able guidance of Dr. James Mihelcic. Along with that, she has also preferred to organize herself for the corporate water world by chasing minor in business administration.
She’s currently working with Dr. Mihelcic on a water project in Uganda dealing with the exploration of water resources in distinct regions of Uganda and probing its supply system. This work is an extension of the UGANDA SANITATION FOR HEALTH ACTIVITY (USHA) project. She wishes to pursue a career where she could help people directly who are striving for basic life rights. She realized she could make a difference if she made accessibility of water unchallenging in the parts of the world where it is considered a luxury rather than necessity. For this reason she has been pursuing a career in international development. Fun fact: She’s an athlete and loves playing acoustic guitar!
