Linden is from Arkansas, although she has also lived in Texas and Colorado. She majored in Biological and Agricultural Engineering and minored in Sustainability at the University of Arkansas. She chose to join the Engineering for International Development program at USF because she was trying to find some way to simultaneously pursue her interests in human culture, world travel, conservation, engineering design, systems thinking, the FEW nexus, the SDGs and general growth into a global citizen. The program seemed to be (and has proved to be) an environment that empowers her to live out all these things at once in a magnificent, beautifully messy whole.
Linden served in Vanuatu on the tiny island of Uripiv as a Community Health Volunteer. There she learned to speak Bislama and some Uripiv language, how to husk, scratch, and milk a coconut, how to spearfish, and how to live on aelan time.
She loves all things outdoors, believes good food and drink are some of the true joys of life, and aspires to one day speak 10 languages and play 10 instruments. She is currently at 2 1/4 and 2 1/4.
