Katherine Marshall
Katherine was born in Pennsylvania, but spent the majority of her formative years in South Carolina, which she considers to be home. She received a B.S. in geology from the College of Charleston. Through the pursuit of her undergraduate degree, Katherine developed an interest in sustainable development and management of water resources. After participating in a NSF REU in the Agricultural and Biological Engineering department at the University of Florida, she decided to pursue a graduate degree in engineering. Though she still has a strong affinity for geology, she believes environmental engineering will better prepare her to help in finding solutions to complex issues related to water resources. With a longstanding interest in the Peace Corps and desire to work internationally, the Master’s International program at USF seemed like the perfect way to align her academic and professional interests and aspirations. Katherine is excited to continue developing her knowledge and skills, and to apply them to work as a Peace Corps volunteer.
